However, might I suggest casting your net back out into the sea? There are plenty of fish out there and this one has already told you that he is not taking the bait.

If you can not let go that easily, continue to talk to him, but don't shoot down the attention of others. Sags are renowned for being quite a friendly bunch so if he's you've given him no reason to be coarse w/ you he will continue to be cordial. As a word of advice don't mistake his kindness for romantic interest.

I would tell him that you appreciate that he was up front and did not waster either of your time and that you will be glad to be 'friends only'
and leave it there. Then let him call YOU.
I know you like him, but he will loose respect for you if you don't take him at his word.
You can be his friend and after he sees other qualities you have he might change his mind, but what ever you do, dont try to manipulate him or chase him....
he will see right through you, loose resepct for you and probably disappear all together.
Also, he will never even *consider* dating you seriously if he cant respect you so just keep him as a friend
